TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama women’s basketball head coach Kristy Curry announced Monday the hiring of Kevin Markle as the program’s associate strength and conditioning coach.
Markle comes to The Capstone after spending three years at Stoney Brook University, serving as the Seawolves’ assistant director of athletic performance from 2021-24.
The Seawolves combined for 69 victories (69-24) over Markle’s three-year tenure, which included two postseason appearances and a Coastal Athletic Association regular season champion title during his last year. Markle also played a role in the development of 2024 CAA Player of the Year Gigi Gonzalez.
Prior to Stony Brook, Markle spent stints at Louisiana Tech (2020-21), Wagner College (2018-20), UMass Lowell (2018) and Penn State (2016-17).

- Worked with men’s soccer and lacrosse as a sports performance assistant at UMass Lowell (2018)
- Interned at Penn State Performance Enhancement (2016-17), while working with men’s basketball as a volunteer assistant strength coach in 2017
- Earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at Pennsylvania State University (2017) before also getting his Master of Business Administration degree from Wagner College (2020)
