Projector mount sold at JB Hi-Fi stores nationwide recalled

A projector mount sold by JB Hi-Fi has been called over fears it may fall from the ceiling.

The mount does not contain a secondary locking mechanism, Product Safety Australia said in a recall notice.

“The adjustable arm may fall from the mount if the mount is adjusted with the projector attached,” the recall said.

“There is a risk of serious injury if the adjustable arm falls from the ceiling mount with the projector attached.

“Consumers must not attempt to adjust the length of the projector mount by releasing its locking mechanism, without first removing the attached projector.”

The product was sold online and in stores in New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, Western Australia and the Australian Capital Territory.

The item was sold between January 5, 2023 and March 26, 2024 and has the model number XCDPROM1.

Consumers should contact JB Hi-Fi by calling 1300 524 266 or sending an email to homeservices@jbhifi.com.au to arrange installation of a replacement projector mount.

The replacement will come at no cost to the purchaser.
