Preparing ahead of a big trip during a busy travel season

Must read

HOUSTON (KIAH) – As you prepare for a big trip out of town, planning around the extra traffic and making sure you have a checklist handy can save you time, money and avoid stress.

AAA Texas Spokesperson, Doug Shupe said that most Texans are traveling by car for holidays this year, so double inspecting your car in advance of a road trip is important.

Several things to check:

  • Battery
  • tires
  • replace wiper blades
  • top off fluid levels

There will also be Texans considering booking a flight this week for Independence Day.

Before departing, consider:

  • arrive for your flight early
  • check in online at home
  • download the airline app
  • reserve parking before arriving at the airport
  • double-check belongings at TSA screening

Across Texas, most Texans are traveling to Galveston, Corpus Christi, Hill Country and San Antonio. If you’re traveling, be sure to book early, work with a trusted travel advisor and consider travel insurance. For more information, visit AAA.com/travel.
