Another year for British brand in F1, another AMR-spec DBX super-SUV

Aston Martin has revealed the latest Formula 1-inspired version of its SUV in the form of the 2024 Aston Martin DBX707 AMR24.

Following on from last year’s AMR23 but armed with the latest model year 2024 upgrades, the DBX707 AMR24 can be had in Podium Green, Onyx Black or Neutron White and rolls on 23-inch ‘Fortis’ wheels, behind which lurk either Aston Martin Racing Green or AMR Lime brake callipers.

The exclusive paint colours are complemented by either Lime Green or Trophy Silver highlights and contrast against either gloss-black or carbon-fibre trim bits.

The interior will likewise be offered in two unique colourways – Onyx Black with Lime stitching and piping, or Onyx Black and Eifel Green D with Lime stitching – each available with extended carbon and dark chrome jewellery or titanium trim packages.

Beyond the exclusive exterior and interior touches, a bespoke Bowers & Wilkins sound system is the only other prominent upgrade over the standard DBX707.

That means the AMR24 is fitted with the same Porsche Cayenne-slaying 520kW/900Nm twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 and nine-speed ‘wet-clutch’ automatic transmission combo, which is capable of launching it to 100km/h in a claimed 3.3 seconds.

The DBX’s equally benchmark-matching 311km/h top speed is similarly unchanged, as are the adaptive underpinnings and carbon-ceramic braking package.

“Now with a technically advanced interior to match its class leading performance, the DBX707 AMR24 Edition is a stand-out ultra-luxury SUV with incredible road presence,” said Aston Martin boss Marco Mattiacci.

“Aston Martin are competing at the pinnacle of world motorsport, which represents a key pillar in our brand and product strategy for our road cars, and it’s a real pleasure to offer this special edition in celebration of the Aston Martin Aramco Formula 1 Team.”

Order books for the DBX707 AMR24 are open now and pricing has been set at an astonishing $568,830 plus on-road costs – a cool $140K-plus more than the standard DBX707 ($428,400 plus ORCs).

It’s not clear exactly how many AMR24s will come to Australia, but first local deliveries are expected to start in late 2024 or early 2025.
