CALGARY, ALTA. – The Cougars return to the court this November to start off the 2024-25 season. The first games of Mount Royal basketball’s 2024-25 season tips-off with both the men’s and women’s teams taking on the MacEwan Griffins on the road on November 1st and 2nd. The following week, they both will take on the Trinity Western Spartans for their home opener on November 8th.
After falling short in the Canada West Playoff Tournament, the men’s basketball program has gone in a different direction at the helm. Josh Mullen will be taking over as the new Head Coach of the team as the second coach in men’s basketball since joining Canada West and U SPORTS.
The women’s basketball program also fell short last season in the Canada West Tournament, but looks to turn it around this season. After a season riddled with injury and several unforeseen situations, the team will return healthy come November and look to return to the playoffs.
For fans looking to enjoy MRU live-streamed games, passes for Canada West TV will go on sale in August.
