A mix of former Boston Celtics, current New England Patriots, and one of the stars of the upcoming Boston-filmed movie “The Instigators” are at TD Garden to watch the Celtics take on the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5 of the 2024 NBA Finals Monday night.
Ten former Celtics players are on hand to watch Game 5, including power forward Grant Williams, who previously played for both the Celtics and Mavericks before landing with the Charlotte Hornets via trade in February. Many ex-Celtics who were previously at TD Garden for Game 1 or Game 2 of the 2024 NBA Finals are back for Game 5, including Dana Barros, Tacko Fall, Eddie House, and Leon Powe.
Rapper/actor Jack Harlow, who is one of several musicians sitting courtside for Game 5, is back in Boston after filming the upcoming Matt Damon/Casey Affleck heist comedy “The Instigators” here in 2023.
Another chart-topping musician who successfully transitioned to acting? Celtics courtside fixture Donnie Wahlberg, who will be joined by fellow New Kids on the Block singer Joey McIntyre for Game 5.
A trio of Bruins will be at Game 5, with coach Jim Montgomery joining Brad Marchand and Matt Grzelcyk.
As for the Patriots, linebacker Ja’Whaun Bentley is back for another game, as is rookie quarterback Drake Maye.
Straddling the line between athlete and entertainer is Boston-born pro wrestler Mercedes Moné, who is currently part of AEW Wrestling.
