A mega Bunnings dance party could be on the way

Must read

Bunnings is already a national institution, hosting fundraising sausage sizzles, themed kids birthday parties and even welcoming fellow Aussie icons Bluey and Bingo into the family.

So it’s no surprise the hardware giant is seriously contemplating a social media push to host a mega dance party at one (or more) of their national stores.

Peking Duk (Adam Hyde and Reuben Styles) and DJ What So Not (Chris Emerson) have taken to their TikTok and Instagram accounts with video of what a Bunnings rave might look like if the store were to get on board with the idea.

And Adam revealed talks are already underway with Bunnings, so the dream could soon be a reality for anyone eager to get their dance on among the power tools and paint samples.

“We’ve been talking with Bunnings and we’re looking for the perfect location for a rave, so it looks like we could be on,” he told Today Extra.

While it might be necessary to readjust some of the store layout for OHS reasons, Rueben said it was hard to argue why a Bunnings rave would be a bad idea in 2024.

“It’s the most Aussie thing in the world, having a rave with sausage sizzles and maybe people teaching you how to fix a toilet seat,” he joked.

The boys are no strangers to the festival circuit and performing at bigger venues, but Chris, who often likes to do surprise pop-ups at cafes, small stores and the like, said there was a real sense of community spirit in those more intimate gigs.

“It sounds like a fantastic idea with how hard the music industry is doing it right now,” he said.

“I think doing exciting viral pop ups like this is such an important way forward for everyone.”
