Active Travel Fund – Transport Nottingham

Must read

Active Travel Fund schemes make it easier, safer and more attractive for people to walk, wheel, scoot and cycle. Nottingham City Council bid for £2m to improve active travel measures across the city. The initial funding was awarded during the Covid-19 pandemic to improve temporary access to walking and cycling, a further bid (Active Travel Fund 2) followed to make some of these schemes permanent and expand the scope of our cycle
network.

Active Travel Fund projects include…

Active Travel Fund 2 has helped Nottingham City Council to further improve its infrastructure that provides safer and more enjoyable routes for walkers, wheelers and cyclists.

The Fund has also enabled us to provide citizens most in need opportunities to travel actively. The feedback this received proves the benefits that active travel can have.

Nottingham City Council is an ambitious authority and through improving how and what data we capture, this will benefit our ability to strategically improve our active travel and road networks. Data captured can also help us to bid for further funding that will help Nottingham be a greener,  healthier and more sustainable city.
