Watch: Bont’s magical goal
Bontempelli gets his third
“He needs to stay in bed all week, every week,” joked Jonathan Brown on Fox Footy.
“He is fresh as a daisy.”
Bontempelli found room and snapped the third goal.
This has been a special display once again.
Dogs 131, Freo 82 with two mins to go.
Ugle-Hagan kicks another
The Dogs looks safe now with Ugle-Hagan kicking his third goal but his leads, marks and smarts around the forward 50m have been vital.
Now the Dogs can begin planning for Sam Darcy’s return and how to make their forward 50m work at its best.
They have some exciting parts.
Dogs 119, Freo 73 with seven mins to go.
Young limps off, Dogs goal again
Hayden Young has arguably been the Dockers best player in the second half. He has 24 possessions but has reportedly limped from the ground after his leg hyperextended in a tackle.
Young was shown on the bench receiving treatment, Fox Footy says he may attempt to come back on the ground.
At the other end, the Dogs made no mistake with Gallagher soccering a goal out of the air – it was a volley that would fit well in the current Euro 2024 tournament.
Dogs 113, Freo 73 with 12 mins to go.
Weightman with the settler
When the Bulldogs needed a goal, Weightman obliged.
He drew a free kick on Draper by extending his arms in a marking contest and won the free kick for having his arms knocked.
That’s three goal from 10 touches for Weightman.
Dogs 107, Freo 72 with 13 mins to go.
Dockers within five goals
Luke Jackson has pulled in a mark and kicked a goal.
Suddenly, the Dockers are within five goals of the lead.
Surely they can’t do it? Surely not.
The Bulldogs are not taking their scoring chances and Freo are…
Dogs 101, Freo 72 with 15 mins to go.
Dogs use their sub
Anthony Scott has been subbed out by the Bulldogs with Caleb Daniel now subbed into the game for the last term.
Treacy has kicked the first goal of the last term.
It’s not over yet.
Dogs 101, Freo 59 with 19 mins left to play.
Three quarter time stats
3QT: Western Bulldogs 15.11 (101) to Fremantle 9.5 (59)
The Bulldogs took a 58-point lead early in the third term but watched it cut to 42 points heading into the last term.
It looks like too much for the Dockers to chase down but we’ve seen stranger things.
Watch for Bontempelli and co to try and take this game away from the Dockers early in the last term as they are known for their fast finishers and the home side won’t want them to have any hope left.
Freo could be fighting for their finals hopes given it is hard to see both these clubs making the top eight.
Lobb kicks his second
Rory Lobb has punched the air after kicking his second goal of the day.
The big man showed some athleticism to get his toe to the bouncing ball right on the goal line. Whatever size boot he wears, and it looks to be a size 14, it was just long enough to reach the footy before it crossed the line.
Dogs 100, Freo 59 with two mins to go in Q3.
Banfield kicks another
Fremantle are making a run at this game.
The margin has gone from 58 points to 35 and the quarter isn’t finished yet.
Banfield just kicked his second goal and the Dogs have messed up their recent moves forward.
This one isn’t over. Not yet.
Dogs 94, Freo 59 with four mins to go in Q3.
