AFL Round 13 Teams: Tigers welcome back gun trio; Crows drop ruck, lose star forward

Must read

Richmond and Adelaide have each made a quartet of changes for tomorrow night’s clash, with a key Tigers trio headlining the inclusions across both teams.

In hope that Dustin Martin’s absence won’t inflict on their chances of a rare away win, Richmond have finally welcomed back some key ins amid an incredible injury crisis at Tigerland.

Meanwhile, the Crows have made the bold call of dropping an 112-game ruck for his 28-year-old reserve, while also handing a debut to a young on-baller.

The match which once loomed as Martin’s 300th will no longer be, as the three-time Norm Smith medallist misses through what the Tigers have listed as ‘management’.

Shai Bolton, Tim Taranto and Dion Prestia have all made a timely return for what now looms as a very winnable game given the Crows’ recent injuries to key players.

Jacob Koschitzke is the fourth in for the Tigers, and returns to the senior side for the first time since Round 5.

The four come in for Martin, Mykelti Lefau (knee), Marlion Pickett (calf) and Kaleb Smith (omitted).

At the Crows, Taylor Walker will join close friend Matt Crouch (shoulder) as an out, with his back not up to scratch off a five-day break.

Reilly O’Brien has been omitted after being Adelaide’s preferred ruckman since 2019, with mature-age back-up Kieran Strachan selected to take his place after another dominant start to his season in the SANFL.

Young midfielder Billy Dowling has also been rewarded for his impressive form in the reserves, and will make his debut as Crouch’s replacement.

Foxfooty.com.au understands that forward Brayden Cook suffered a late injury at training today, forcing him to miss after three goals against the Hawks last week.

Ned McHenry will join Adelaide’s attack with his recall, while Cook’s absence could force the Crows to think outside the box in attack, and potentially swing a defender up forward.

Will Hamill has been called up for his fifth game of the year, after some solid performances in the senior side.

The rest of the lineups this weekend will be announced at 6:20pm AEST tomorrow night.
