Must read

Round 14 of the 2024 AFL season beings with a Friday night clash between finals hopefuls Brisbane and St Kilda at the Gabba.

Keep up to date with all of the fixtures, games, news, tips, odds, results, reaction, and video as they come to hand.

FRIDAY, JUNE 14

Gabba, 7:40pm (AEST)

Team news: Both of these teams are relatively healthy on the injury front but have players performing at VFL level who continue giving their respective coaches something to think about. Jarryd Lyons continues to toil away, picking up 32 disposals and booting three goals against Footscray last week, while Brad Crouch (27 disposals and six clearances), Zak Jones (29 and eight inside 50s), and Cooper Sharman (three goals and seven marks) were among the best for Sandringham.

ESPN tip: Lions by 26 points

Pointsbet odds: Lions $1.20, Saints $4.50

SATURDAY, JUNE 15

Marvel Stadium, 1:45pm (AEST)

Team news: Bulldogs ruck/forward Rory Lobb was subbed out after tweaking his ankle against the Lions last week and Alex Keath is expected to spend at least one month on the sidelines with a hamstring strain, but Ed Richards should be available after clearing concussion protocols. For the Dockers, Brennan Cox is nearing full fitness after suffering a significant hamstring injury earlier in the season, but is not a lock to return this week.

ESPN tip: Dockers by 10 points

Pointsbet odds: Bulldogs $1.75, Dockers $2.05

MCG, 4:35pm (AEST)

Team news: The Tigers have fresh injury concerns ahead of Dustin Martin’s 300th match, with luckless midfielder Dion Prestia subbed out of last week’s win against the Crows with calf soreness. Martin is a clear, massive inclusion after being rested last week, while key forward Tom Lynch is also nearing a return from a long injury layoff. Meanwhile, Hawthorn’s forward line could be bolstered by the potential return of Mitch Lewis, who hasn’t played since Round 4.

ESPN tip: Tigers by 16 points

Pointsbet odds: Tigers $2.55, Hawks $1.50

Adelaide Oval, 7:30pm (AEST)

Team news: Will Matthew Nicks swing the axe after another lacklustre performance? Defender Nick Murray was strong again in his second game back from an ACL injury via the SANFL, finishing 22 disposals and nine marks against South Adelaide. Luke Pedlar (26 touches and nine clearances) also put his hand up, while Reilly O’Brien is an obvious replacement for the injured Kieran Strachan.

ESPN tip: Swans by 31 points

Pointsbet odds: Crows $3.55, Swans $1.30

SUNDAY, JUNE 16

Marvel Stadium, 1:00pm (AEST)

Team news: Roos tall Wil Dawson will undergo scans after being subbed out with a shoulder concern against the Eagles. Charlie Lazzaro couldn’t have done much more to put himself back in the selection frame, picking up a whopping 36 disposals and seven clearances in a VFL win over Coburg. The Magpies won’t regain any injured stars to face the Kangas, but Scott Pendlebury, Brody Mihocek, and Jordan De Goey could all be back after the bye.

ESPN tip: Magpies by 28 points

Pointsbet odds: Kangaroos $7.00, Magpies $1.10

ENGIE Stadium, 4:00pm (AEST)

Team news: The Power took a cautious approach keeping Connor Rozee out of the Round 12 clash with the Blues, but expect the skipper to be an inclusion as Ken Hinkley’s side looks to rebound off a bye week.

ESPN tip: Giants by 9 points

Pointsbet odds: Giants $1.50, Power $2.55
