Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria were slammed over their 10-year-old daughter, Carmen wearing make-up in a Father’s Day post uploaded to Instagram on Sunday.
The 30 Rock star, 66 – who was recently roasted over his decision to film a reality show with his family – shared sweet photos of his children to celebrate the special day.
He notably shares Carmen, 10, Rafael, eight, Leonardo, seven, Romeo, six, Eduardo, three, Lucia, three, and Ilaria, one, with wife Hilaria – whom he tied the knot with in 2012. He is also father to Ireland, 28, whom he welcomed with ex, Kim Basinger.
In the caption, Alec – who is preparing to go to trial for the fatal Rust shooting – simply penned, ‘Happy Father’s Day to the dads out there.’
The second image showed Carmen holding one of her siblings in her arms while wearing mascara as well as a glossy lipstick.
Social media users were divided in the comment section as they shared their thoughts on the 10-year-old sporting makeup in the image.
One typed out, ‘Why does a 10 year old wear makeup?’ while another questioned, ‘Why is she wearing makeup,’ followed by a rolling eyes emoji.
‘Looks older than 10!!’ a follower added, while other fans came to their defense in the comments as well.
One pointed out, ‘My grandkids love to wear makeup and it is just fun,’ while another added, ‘Who cares about her makeup?! #judgykarens.’
‘Beautiful family. My 8 yr old granddaughter loves playing with makeup and we let her! What’s the big deal! So shut your negative mouths and move on,’ one said.
However, this is not the first time the Alec and Hilaria have sparked backlash due to their eldest daughter wearing makeup.
Earlier this year in February, Hilaria was mom-shamed by for allowing Carmen to wear full-face makeup in a photo uploaded to her own Instagram page.
She typed in the caption: ‘Date night with my first baby…she did both our makeup. How quickly they get big and how amazing it is to get to be inspired by them.’
‘Carmen, you are such a special soul…just like your siblings…all unique and equally incredible,’ the media personality concluded.
Once again, social media users flocked to the comment section, with one adding, ‘Isn’t she too young for makeup?’
Another wrote, ‘Why do these celebrities make their children look so grown. Why all that makeup??’ while one shared, ‘She is a child. Please!’
But other’s also came to Hilaria’s defense, with one penning, ‘My daughter and I used to do each others make up it’s a great way to bond, especially with the eldest in a big family. Please be kind.’
In the comment section of Alec’s latest Father’s Day post on Sunday, debates about their daughter’s makeup usage wasn’t the only topic discussed. Some followers questioned why his oldest daughter, Ireland, was not included in the tribute.
‘Where is Ireland?’ one asked, while another typed out, ‘You keep forgetting your first child…’
However, later on Sunday, the Beetlejuice actor reposted a photo of Ireland with her musician boyfriend RAC (Andre Allen Anjos) and their daughter, Holland, one.
The actor captioned the photo with, ‘Thank you to this group for the lovely Father’s Day wishes. Love you all.’
Ireland later took to her Instagram stories to share a screenshot as she enjoyed a FaceTime session with her father, Alec. ‘Happy Father’s Day @alecbaldwininsta.’
Hilaria also shared a special tribute to her husband on Father’s Day on Instagram with a clip of him being humorously woken from a nap by some of his children.
She wrote, ‘Happy Father’s Day!!! Accidentally let the kids into the room he was napping in (yet it was so circus epic that I stayed to film)….hope all you other dads got to finish your naps. Much love papas❤️.’
Earlier this month, the couple announced that they would officially be joining the world of reality television with their own show – which is slated to be release in 2025.
The pair shared the news on Instagram – as the actor prepares to go on trial for the fatal Rust shooting.
The premise of the series will follow the couple as they ‘open up their lives for the first time and bring everyone in to join in the non-stop love, laughter and drama,’ per a press release.
‘Alec and Hilaria Baldwin have been making headlines since they were married nearly 12 years ago,’ reads a description of the upcoming show.
‘In this TLC follow-doc series, Alec and Hilaria invite viewers into the home they share with their seven growing kids. For the first time, they’re opening up their family lives and bringing everyone in to join in the non-stop love, laughter and drama.’
However, the couple were soon roasted over their decision to launch their own reality show, with some trolls referencing to Hilaria’s 2020 scandal that she had faked her Spanish heritage.
‘You would think it would be on Telemundo no?’ one typed out on X, while another added, ‘Good. We haven’t had enough of Hilaria’s fake accent.’
The news comes after it was revealed that Alec will go to trail for manslaughter over the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, as a judge denied a motion to dismiss the case.
Alec pleaded not guilty and the trial is set for July. If convicted, he faces up to 18 months in prison.
In a statement following the judge’s decision, his attorneys said, ‘We look forward to our day in court.’
