Alexis Ohanian Goes the Extra Mile to Meet Daughter Olympia’s Demands Even if It Means to Sacrifice Weekends

“Olympia Ohanian has her dad wrapped around her pinky!” Serena Williams’ husband, Alexis Ohanian, wants to provide the best in the world for his daughters. Who could cook a dish better than him? Nobody. While Ohanian has perfected the art of making creative pancakes, with another dish added to Olympia’s handpicked favorites, the Reddit cofounder rolled up his sleeves and pulled up his socks to learn the recipe.

There is rarely a day when Ohanian is not sharing his fatherly duties/routines/activities he indulges in with his two daughters, particularly the elder one, Olympia. And in a recent update, he gave another glimpse of his dedication to his family. In an Instagram post, captioned “Part 9 of my Ask Alexis series”, a follower asked Ohanian about his favorite brisket.

Responding to the ‘good question’, he revealed how his favorite brisket stems from his sous-chef Olympia’s corner. Although reluctant to pick favorites, his top brisket is one from the state most known for it – Texas. He said, “I don’t wanna pick favorites, but I can tell you it was definitely in Texas.” However, the story goes in these few words, he further revealed, “It’s also where my daughter, Olympia fell in love with brisket.” And that was why he needed to take out his grill and other kitchen equipment, to get the meat rolling.

Taking out weekends to perfect his daughter’s favorite, he had all the help needed from YouTube. “And that is the reason why I’ve sought out to perfect it on the weekends. I’ll shout out to meat church, for having the best YouTube tutorials. Taught me everything I know about smoking.” Ohanian, like every father, is ready to go to any extent for his kids, and his weekends went into perfecting the dish. And in due course of time, we may see the whole family barbecue with Ohanian donning the chef hat!

After so much handwork, skill, and love put behind the brisket, Ohanian’s post caption makes all the sense, “If you know me, you know I love a good brisket. While I whip up a mean one myself, nothing tops Texas brisket 🤠.” In addition to cooking, Ohanian is up for anything when it comes to his daughters. Spending time involving them in business talks, building legos, being a daddy caddy, and many others. However, despite being ready to fulfill most of the wishes, if not all, Ohanian would not agree to one thing.

Ohanian is flexible about experimenting on various fronts, technology, sports, and cooking. However, there is one thing,that the venture capitalist will not budge about: his daughter supporting the Dallas Cowboys! Ohanian has grown up in Washington DC, hence his support to his home team is understandable. But he doesn’t want to indulge in an NFL fan rivalry at home.

In his recent podcast, Business Dad, he said, “I grew up in the DC area, I’d say for a better part of my childhood. I was a Commander’s fan. “ So I would be crushed if my daughter cheered for the Cowboys. I can’t explain why. There’s no rational reason I wouldn’t care, you know, for so many other things.”

Well, after being a business yet hands-on dad, Ohanian can wish for his daughter to be on his side when it comes to one of his favorite sports!
