The Miami Dolphins picked up $18.5 million in additional cap space over the weekend when the release of cornerback Xavien Howard finally became official and took him off the team’s balance sheet. They weren’t the only ones to get a big influx of cash, though.
The Las Vegas Raiders got a whopping $24 million from Jimmy Garoppolo coming off their books with a post-June 1 designation, and the San Francisco 49ers got $18 million from their release of Arik Armstead.
So where does that leave every team with only a few months left until the 2024 season begins?
