Listen up – here’s how to get 3 months free Audible

I can honestly say Audible is one of the best subscriptions I have. It’s made countless public transport journeys, supermarket laps and Sunday strolls about ten times more interesting, but if you’re on the fence about it, let this offer be that final nudge. It’s now free for three months (for Amazon Prime subscribers who’ve never had Audible before, or in the last 12 months). Sign up soon though, as the offer ends at the end of the month.

For more deals on Amazon subscriptions and devices, Alex has the lowdown.

Save over 30 per cent on ghd straighteners

Ghd is always bringing out innovative new hair tools but the original ghd straighteners are still as effective as ever.

ghd original hair straightener: Was £139, now £94.99, Amazon.co.uk

(Amazon)

You can trust the original ghd straighteners to pack a styling punch, with one of our IndyBest writers praising them in their review for creating “similarly impressive results to those you get with a newer model, delivering long-lasting looks, whether [she] opted for a straight or wavy style.” And they’re less than £100 this Prime Day, so what’s stopping you?

Stock up on discounted household essentials

Washing tablets, toothpaste, toilet cleaner. These aren’t words that fill me with excitement, but stocking up on these products while they’re on sale is always wise. And you don’t need to scroll through deals on washing machine cleaners and scrubbers because we’ve done it for you, in our Prime Day guide below.

How to get Amazon Music Unlimited for free

Amazon kicked off this mega deal early this year. An alternative to Spotify, if you’ve never subscribed to Amazon Music before (or in the last 12 months), the retailer is currently giving five whole months of Amazon Music Unlimited completely free in celebration of Amazon Music’s 10-year anniversary.

Amazon Music Unlimited: Was £9.99 per month, now free for 5 months, Amazon.co.uk

(Amazon)

Amazon Music Unlimited includes access to more than 100 million songs and podcasts ad-free, on-demand, and in high-quality streaming audio. You’ll have to pay £9.99 per month once your trial ends, but you can cancel before it finishes if you don’t want to continue with your subscription. The deal ends on 18 July (the day after Prime Day).

Our favourite budget robot vacuum cleaner is now even cheaper

The ultimate cheat for cleaning your home, I’ve been after a robot vacuum for a while. Luckily, Amazon has come through with some stellar savings – and the best budget robot vacuum cleaner in our review just got even more of a steal, thanks to Prime Day.

(eufy)

Our tester noted that it has “good suction for the price”, and it “handles dirt and dust on hardwood floors and medium-pile rugs with ease”. The “sensors can tell when the robot moves from carpet to hard floors and adjusts the suction strength to suit the situation”. Now’s the time to invest while the vacuum is at its lowest-ever price.

Save 30% on my favourite Dyson airwrap dupe

I’ve got both the Dyson airwrap and its rival, Shark’s flexstyle air styler – so can confirm that the TikTok hype over the latter tool is real. Easily challenging Dyson’s bouncy blowdry throne, the Shark tool is nealy £200 cheaper and almost as good. Now, you can get it for even less thanks to Prime Day.

Shark flexstyle air styler: Was £319.99, now £229.99, Amazon.co.uk

(Amazon)

When reviewing the Shark flexstyle, I found it to be powerful and fast-drying, complete with a fully-functioning hairdryer (arguablly better than Dyson’s drying attachment), style concentrator and diffuser. It’s super versatile thanks to its five different attachments and the best airwrap dupe you can buy (trust me, I’ve tried a lot). At nearly 30 per cent off, there’s no better time to get your hair looking its best.

This is the best Apple Watch series 9 deal I’ve seen in the Prime Day sale

Not only has Apple’s AirPods pro 2 been reduced to an all-time low, but the all-new Apple Watch series 9 has also just been reduced to the lowest price our tech writer Alex has ever seen. The wearable was reduced to £349 in January, but this Prime Day deal is so much better.

(Amazon)

Released last September, the Apple Watch series 9 is the latest smartwatch in Apple’s repertoire. Featuring an always-on display and the brightest screen on any Apple Watch ever, it’s the new S9 processor that makes the Apple Watch stand out.

As well as being fast, smooth and responsive to use, it also makes possible a new feature called double tap. “When you raise your arm to wake the watch to full brightness, you can tap your index finger and thumb together twice, instead of touching the screen,” The Independent’s tech critic David Phelan said in his review. “It’s effortless and responsive. You can use it to snooze an alarm, pause a timer, play music and more.”

Save hundreds of pounds on this tried and tested Emma mattress

Prime Day is one of the best times of the year to replace your tired mattress, thanks to mega savings on the likes of Simba, Emma and Silentnight. More deals are dropping hourly and I’ve just spotted a stellar offer on Emma.

Emma nextgen premium single mattress: Was £709, now £389, Amazon.co.uk

(Amazon)

“For fans of firm mattresses, the Emma premium plus is sure to go down a treat”, our tester said in their review. Crowning it as the best breathable option, our tester found that the Emma NextGen premium mattress was one of the comfiest they had ever slept on. “What makes this so impressive is the five layers of comfort”, they explained, “four of which are made from foam, and one a 12.5cm tall layer of pocket springs, making the whole thing soft and spongy.” Even better, Amazon has slashed the price of a single mattress by more than £300.

Amazon’s Fire max 11 tablet is nearly half price

Combining the functionality of a laptop with the portability of a phone, Amazon’s Fire tablet range is hard to beat for affordability and user-friendly design. Now, the max 11 model is reduced for Prime Day.

Fire max 11 tablet: Was £249.99, now £139.99, Amazon.co.uk

(Amazon)

Reduced to almost half price this Prime Day, the Fire Max 11 offers “exceptional value”, according to our review, where it was dubbed the best full-size budget tablet on test. It was hailed by our writer for being powerful and boasting a “bright and colourful” display and “very strong” battery life. What’s more, it features “a slicker, slimmer and more premium design than other Fire tablets”, they praised.
