Amherst County Public Schools and Amherst County High School announced this week Brennan Banton is the Lancers’ new boys head basketball coach.
Banton has spent the past eight years as health, physical education and drivers’ education teacher at Nelson County High School. Additionally, Banton has served in many capacities as a coach including all levels from middle school, 9th grade, junior varsity and varsity, according to a news release.
A former Lancer, Banton graduated from Amherst County High School in 2006.
“Coach Banton has dedicated himself to different athletic programs at NCHS during his tenure including basketball and football,” the release said. “We look forward to watching Coach Banton transform the Lancer Basketball team for many years to come.”
