Annual Prime Minister’s Corporate Golf Challenge in Lae raises K75,500 for Team PNG

The Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee (PNGOC) completed its annual Prime Minister’s Corporate Golf Challenge in Lae, Morobe Province.

A total amount of K75,500 was raised that will go towards supporting Team PNG in participating in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games in July.

A total of 25 teams and 3-hole sponsors were part of the second phase of the 26th Prime Minister’s Corporate Golf Challenge in Lae.

Lane Lawyers maintained their winning streak by claiming the Lae titles with 4-mile Coffee trailing at second place while Coffee Connections took out the third place in the presence of the prime minister’s representative Jelta Wong.

Speaking during the presentation Minister Wong mentioned that the National Government is a proud supporter of sports and the Prime Minister’s Office is looking forward to continue supporting Team PNG in the coming years.

“I would like to extend my gratitude towards the following. Firstly, our good Prime Minister, Honorable James Marape. I would like to commend you on your continuous support towards the Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee and Team PNG. Your support for this important annual event is highly appreciated”.

“I also wish to acknowledge our partners for the PM’s Golf, the major event sponsor, The National, Ela Motors, Air Niugini, SP Brewery, Media Partners, Coral Sea Hotels, Trophy Haus, Trukai Industries Limited, Theodist, Blue 7 Team, Vodafone. Not forgetting the Hole sponsors, Telikom, Pacific Cargo Transport (NKW), and PNG Ports Corporation”, he added.

The event is an annual fundraiser, hosted by the Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee to support Team PNG’s preparations for major international games.
