After joining the Club’s Trainee Program in September 2016, Apprentice Wong commenced overseas training with Thoroughbred Racing SA in Morphettville, South Australia on 17 February 2022. Having being attached to the stable of Trainer Jon O’Connor, Apprentice Wong has ridden 50 winners from 602 rides since 12 June 2022.  Apprentice Wong has also gained her Metropolitan licence.

As previously advised, Apprentice Wong returned to Hong Kong on 28 April 2024 (with 5 metropolitan winners from 36 rides, winning ratio of 14%) after recently having her application for an extension of her visa beyond 2 years declined due to a change in attitude by the Australian Commonwealth Government with the issuing of visas to students across the board.

Since her return to Hong Kong, Apprentice Wong has ridden in no less than 25 trials at Sha Tin Racecourse and Conghua Training Centre.

Apprentice Wong has advised her minimum riding weight as 105 lbs.
