A man has been arrested after allegedly yelling and threatening staff while smashing shop items at a Sunshine Coast shopping centre.
Police were called to Kawana Shoppingworld about 11.40am on Friday over reports of a disturbance as the shopping centre was locked down by staff.
The man is understood to at one point have harmed himself with a pair of scissors from a homewares shop.
Members of the public detained him before police arrived, according to reports.

“The man was restrained by members of the public and arrested by police a short time later,” a police spokesperson said.
“No one was physically injured during the incident.”
