Army’s development cricket team make strong start to Inter Services title defence

Must read

The British Army men’s development cricket team are on course to defend their Inter Services title after a thumping win over the RAF at Vine Lane.

The Army won the toss and elected to bat with a brilliant 223-run partnership between Charlie Bevan (96) and Viv Naker (135) setting them up for victory.

Their target of 305/7 was a difficult one for the RAF to chase down and it wasn’t helped by an incredible bowling performance from Rome England.

He grabbed 6/30 from a nine-over spell as the Air Force were bowled out for 162, losing the game by 143 runs.

The Army could win the title when they face the Royal Navy at Larkhill.
