Arsenal discover Benjamin Sesko deadline with £45m transfer decision imminent

Must read

RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko will reportedly make a decision over his future before the start of the upcoming European Championships in ten days time.

Arsenal have been strongly linked with a move for the Slovenian striker, who scored 18 goals in 42 appearances during his debut campaign in Germany.

The player’s agent, Elvis Basanovic, has been spotted at Arsenal matches this season and football.london understands the Gunners are pursuing a potential move for Sesko and remain hopeful they can find room to negotiate down the player’s reported release clause of £45m.

Arsenal will get a closer look at Sesko due to Slovenia being paired in the same group as England at the Euros, offering the player a further opportunity to prove his quality on the biggest stage.

A latest update on the situation, provided by Italian journalist Matteo Moretto, has made clear the 21-year-old will decide on whether to sign a new contract or to seek a new opportunity elsewhere before the start date of this month’s international tournament in Germany (June 14).

Offering an update on what could come next for his client, Sesko’s agent recently told Sportklub: “There is interest from two clubs in the Saudi Arabian league, but there is no chance of him going there now: he will not leave Europe. There are Premier League and Serie A teams who want Sesko, yes… But RB Leipzig are also doing everything they can to keep the player with a very good proposal.”
