CARLSBAD, Calif. (WAFF) – For the first time in program history, the Auburn men’s golf team will compete for a National Championship from Omni La Costa Champions Course, after defeating Ohio State in extra holes Tuesday evening.

Both the quarterfinal and semifinal match was won for the Tigers at the hands of the freshman Haskins Award winner, Jackson Koivun.

In the round of 19 holes, the match was forced into extras. Koivun birdied the match-winning 21st hole to send Auburn to the title match.

The Tigers are set to tee off against Florida State, who also makes the program’s first appearance. The first tee-time is set for 4:25 pm on Wednesday.
