She is one of Australia’s most successful models.
The Perth-born star rose to fame in 1999 after starring in advertisements for an Italian telecommunication company.
She then went on to become ‘the face of Australia in Italy‘ in 2023 for the Australian Tourist Commission in 2003.
The brunette beauty has also appeared in several Hollywood films, including Mad Max: Fury Road and The Water Diviner.
On Thursday, she shared a series of photos to Instagram of herself from the ages of 13 to 16.
Despite only being a youngster in the photos, she is instantly identifiable through her striking facial features.
Of course, it is none other than Megan Gale.
In one photo, the 48-year-old relaxed on the lounge in white pants and a blue jumper with her cat.
In another image, Megan looked glamorous in blue dress and had her hair styled in waves as she looked into the distance.
She also explained in a lengthy caption why she believes raising the minimum age for children to have a social media account from 13 to 16 is essential.
‘I think back to myself between the ages of 13 and 16. Whilst I was reasonably well liked amongst my peers and had the odd boyfriend, I was also very shy at times, incredibly self conscious and lacked confidence,’ she wrote.
‘This was partly due to having my heart broken often and acquiring braces at age 13 until the age of 15.’
‘There was NO WAY my very thin skin back then could’ve handled social media scrutiny. Even now, with my skin much thicker, almost three decades in the public eye and at the age of 48, I still have the odd day where social media and its darker underbelly impacts me negatively.’
‘Yes it can be an amazing platform in so many ways but surely we can all agree, sometime it’s not so great for us and we need to be in the right headspace to handle it.’
