A Sydneysider is Australia’s newest multi-millionaire after scoring a huge $2.6million Keno jackpot on the weekend.
The pubgoer from Toongabbie plans to buy a new home for his family with the huge cash prize that was drawn on Saturday.
The windfall is the second time the father has won big in Keno, scoring a $10,000 prize about 20 years ago.
‘The first ticket I put on, I won a little bit, so I just decided to play a few more games,’ he said.
‘It worked out quite well for me.’
The Sydney family man won Keno for a second time, but this prize is his biggest at $2.6million
The winner bought his ticket at Tonngabbie Sports Club (pictured) and celebrated with beers
‘Almost twenty years ago, I won $10,000 on Keno which was great,’ he said.
‘It doesn’t even compare to this though.
‘It’s funny, my wife is more excited than I am. I think we’ll look to move eventually and buy a nice house.
‘I had a couple of celebratory beers last night and now I’ll just wait for the win to sink in.’
Grateful for his win, the man said the prize money would provide a bit of a change for his family.
The man purchased his winning entry in the Keno Classic at the Toongabbie Sports Club.
Last year, Keno players in Australia took home more than $1b, of those 21 became instant millionaires sharing more than $50m in prize money.
