Indonesian police have revealed what they think happened to an Australian woman who was found critically injured in Bali.

Bec Ode, 36, was found by friends and rushed to Ngoerah General Hospital on Tuesday morning where she remains in a critical but stable condition.

She was found with serious head injuries, including a brain haemorrhage, and is expected to lose sight in one eye.

What happened to Ode has remained a mystery to her family and friends, however according to a police report obtained by the ABC, it’s believed she crashed her Yamaha scooter into a parked motorcycle in Jungutbatu Village.

The report states it was a clear night with a dark sky when the incident occurred, and there was almost no traffic around.

Speaking to 7NEWS.com.au, Ode’s brother-in-law Jesse Wilton said the family felt “helpless”.

“It’s very scary getting the call when we’re in another country,” he said, adding that “no one” knew how Ode sustained the injuries, as “she was just found” with them.

Ode’s mother and sister have flown to Bali to be by her side and the family is working on getting her home to Newcastle as soon as she is medically cleared.

“Bec needs the best health care possible as soon as possible which means bringing her home,” Wilton said in a fundraiser set up to help cover the mounting costs.

Over $180,000 has been raised so far.

“We know Bec will continue fighting her best fight with her strong will and determination,” Wilton said.

“Her family are going to bring her home no matter what it takes.”

Ode had been holidaying in Bali since January, reportedly following the death of her father.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is currently providing consular assistance to an Australian woman hospitalised in Bali, a spokesperson confirmed.
