The Australian Opals and Boomers are set to compete against China in the BALLIN’ 24 basketball series, a significant part of their preparations for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. This event is part of an extensive month of international basketball, with live and exclusive coverage provided by ESPN.

From Tuesday, July 2, to Friday, July 5, ESPN will broadcast live coverage of the Australian Opals and Boomers as they each play two games against China at John Cain Arena in Melbourne.

Also featured in BALLIN’ 24 are Australia’s wheelchair basketball teams, the Rollers and Gliders, along with the men’s and women’s 3 x 3 Gangurrus, all of whom are preparing for their respective Olympic and Paralympic campaigns. These matches will be available on Kayo Sports.

The international basketball action kicks off on Tuesday, July 2, at 7:30 pm AEST, with the Australian Boomers taking on China. Boomers coach Brian Goorjian has assembled a strong squad, including both international and domestic stars. NBA players Josh GiddeyPatty MillsJosh GreenDante ExumJoe InglesMatisse Thybulle, and Dyson Danielswill join Chris GouldingMatthew Dellavedova, and a new wave of young Australian talent.

On Wednesday, July 3, the Australian Opals will begin their two-game series against China, with the first game live at 7:30 pm AEST. Having secured a bronze medal at the FIBA Women’s World Cup on home soil, the Opals enter another Olympic campaign as serious contenders. Ranked third globally, this series against China is crucial for their preparation.
