Australia’s top baby names of 2024 have been unveiled, with one boys’ name dominating the ranking for the 11th consecutive year.

McCrindle says the boys’ list includes traditional, unique, and trending names. Parents opt for names that can be shortened or abbreviated and include one, two, or three syllables, such as Harry from Harrison.

For girls, most of the popular choices this year are increasingly ending with “i” or “y” and more commonly end with “ie”. Names such as Billie and Lottie, as well as flora and wildlife names such as Willow, dominate in popularity.
