With news of Betway’s exit from the US sports betting market announced recently, casino players had one burning question: would the operator’s online casinos follow suit? The issue now appears to be definitively settled, as Super Group – the company behind the iconic betting brand – has given a definite indication that this is unlikely to happen any time soon.
Betway enjoys strong popularity among PA online casino players, so the news undoubtedly comes as a huge relief to players across the Keystone State.
Pennsylvania Casino Expansion Not Ruled Out
In Pennsylvania, the brand is partnered up with Live! Casino Philadelphia. Despite not being on the list of top five revenue earners, the latter consistently delivers strong performances across the Keystone State, registering a 4.58% increase in profit in May of this year when compared to the same month the previous year.
Meanwhile, Super Group CEO Neal Menashe said: “The vast majority of Super Group’s revenue is generated in iGaming and, in line with that strategy, we will continue to offer our leading casino product in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. We are open to expanding our U.S. footprint if the right investment or strategic opportunities arise.”
Besides the Keystone State, Betway’s casino product is currently also available in the state of New Jersey. Menashe’s statement has spurred speculation about whether this means Betway will soon be present in a third state, or whether some form of expansion is on the cards within these two states.
