German audio brand beyerdynamic has joined the stampede towards open-style earphones designed primarily for sporting use or any situation where the wearer needs to be aware of their surroundings.
In a press release issued today, beyerdynamic claims its new VERIO 200 open-ear true wireless earphones offer a secure and comfortable fit, long-lasting battery life and an app that provides customizable sound tuning.
The VERIO 200 earphones use a 16.22mm graphene neodymium driver which beyerdynamic claims has excellent bass, minimal sound leakage and an immersive listening experience. Together with their open-ear design, VERIO 200 can enhance spatial awareness, making them ideal for listening to during commutes, workouts, while working at home or outdoors enjoying sports.
With the launch of VERIO 200, beyerdynamic is also unveiling a new app that lets users personalize sound by creating EQ acoustic profiles and tuning the earphones with a five-band equalizer, as well as customizing onboard controls. The new app is the first time beyerdynamic has offered full custom EQ capabilities and control customization to its comfort line of audio products.
The open-ear VERIO 200 include two integrated microphones enhanced with Qualcomm’s aptX Voice technology, ensuring improved speech intelligibility in any environment. There are also advanced ambient noise detection and filtering features for clearer voice transmission when making phone calls or recording audio.
For some people, earbuds that fit in the listener’s ears are not an option because they cause pain or discomfort after prolonged use. The VERIO 200 earphones have an open-ear hook design that beyerdynamic claims provides a natural and comfortable wearing experience. The ergonomic design ensures the earphones stay put even during intense activity, making them suitable for sports and workouts.
With an IP54 rating, the VERIO 200 are splash-proof and sweat-resistant for indoor and outdoor usage. The open design offers improved air circulation which is better for high-intensity workout classes and long runs.
A full charge of the VERIO 200 provides up to 8 hours of playtime, plus there’s an additional 27 hours of backup charge in the storage case. That’s a total of 35 hours before the case and earbuds need to be recharged. A 10-minute burst charge delivers an hour of playtime.
The VERIO 200 support Multipoint Bluetooth 5.3 compatibility, enabling users to switch between two connected devices so they can listen to music on one device and take calls on another. The earphones are suitable for use with iOS and Android devices with support for aptX Adaptive, AAC and SBC audio codecs.
