That’s why 48 of the best boys basketball players in the Piedmont Triad were on hand at Atkins High School on Sunday, June 2 participating in one of Blue Chip Basketball Academy’s showcase events.
Kishon Bishop, the founder of Blue Chip and the boys basketball coach at Atkins, has been holding the Triad First 48 event for the last eight years. Money raised from the event goes to fund several of Blue Chip’s foreign mission trips throughout the year.
Players are divided onto six different teams representing different areas around the Triad and play a round robin schedule throughout the day, with games of varying lengths. Each team has a coach selected by Bishop.
The teams this year were: Forsyth County, Guilford County, Davidson County, Stokes/Surry County, Rockingham/Alamance/Randolph County, and Davie/Wilkes/Yadkin County.
