Minutes beforehand, Curtis Owen had careened through an intersection at Strathpine and ploughed into two cars.
He would later be recorded with a blood alcohol reading more than three times over the limit.
Owen lashed out at the officer, spat on him and kicked the door into him.
One kick dislodged the officer’s glasses and the body camera from his vest.
The body camera footage was obtained by 9News through a court order today under the provision it was in the public interest.
Last week, Owen pleaded guilty to nine offences including assaulting police, driving under the influence and drug offences over the crash.
Photos also show the wine bottle still at the crash site among the debris.
This wasn’t the first serious crash Owen has caused.
He was previously convicted in 2018 for dangerous driving causing harm also while intoxicated.
On Friday, he was sentenced to 15 months in jail over this crash but walked free from court on immediate parole.
The police officer remains subject to an internal police investigation.
