The highly-anticipated new F1 film starring Brad Pitt has had its release date confirmed, with the film set to come out in the summer of 2025.

In conjunction with Apple Original Films, Formula 1 has announced the film will be distributed in theatres around the world on 25 June next year. It will debut in North America two days later, on June 27.

Having been filmed during grand prix weekends, starting with the 2023 British Grand Prix, the movie will include all 10 teams from the real-life F1 grid, as well as the drivers, the FIA and race promoters.

Brad Pitt will play a former F1 driver, returning to the series to partner a rookie team-mate, played by Damson Idris, at the fictional team APXGP.

Production will continue throughout the 2024 F1 season, including this upcoming British Grand Prix at Silverstone in July and the season-ending round in Abu Dhabi in December.

The film is directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. The cast includes Academy Award-nominee Kerry Condon and Academy Award winner Javier Bardem, as well as Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia, Samson Kayo and Callie Cooke.
