Carlton defender Jordan Boyd has received a one-match ban for an incident involving Tiger Rhyan Mansell.
Mansell picked up the ball on the boundary line before Boyd came into the contest at pace, collecting the Tiger high and conceding a free kick in the process.
The ‘forceful front-on contact’ incident was graded as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.
Herald Sun journalist Jon Ralph asked on X: “Did Mansell contribute to the hit by ducking into it or was he just covering up as Boyd came in at a rate of knots?”
He added “Blues might have a think about taking this to the Tribunal”.
Mansell took the free kick and played out the rest of the contest.
Boyd is set to miss Carlton’s mouth-watering clash with the GWS Giants at 7:30pm on Saturday night at ENGIE Stadium.
