The Canadian Men’s Senior National Basketball Team is one step closer to taking the floor at the Paris Olympics.
With opening ceremonies of the 2024 Olympic Games just over a month away, Canada Basketball has officially announced the training camp roster that will convene in Toronto to begin Olympic preparation. As expected, the roster is complete with plenty of NBA talent.

Canada Basketball veterans Tristan Thompson and Cory Joseph are two notable omissions from the roster.
It is also worth mentioning that Pacers wing Bennedict Mathurin (shoulder) and Trail Blazers wing Shaedon Sharpe (abdominal) are both invited to camp but will not be able to participate in the Olympics due to injury.
Team Canada will have to trim this 20-man training camp roster to 12 players ahead of the Paris Games.

When is basketball at the 2024 Paris Olympics?

- Locations: Villeneuve-d’Ascq, France (5×5 prelims); Paris, France (5×5 final phase)
The 5×5 men’s basketball tournament at the 2024 Paris Olympics opens with the group stage on Saturday, July 27. Group play concludes on Sunday, Aug. 4 and the quarterfinals begin on Tuesday, Aug. 6.
The semifinals will be held on Thursday, Aug. 8. The bronze medal and gold medal games will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10.
Group play will be held at Pierre Mauroy Stadium in Villeneuve-d’Ascq, France while the final phase of games will be played at Paris’ Accor Arena.

Team Canada will be joined by Australia and two other teams to be determined after Olympic Qualifying Tournaments in Greece (Slovenia, New Zealand, Croatia, Egypt, Greece, Dominican Republic) and Spain (Lebanon, Angola, Spain, Finland, Poland, Bahamas)
