This senior position is responsible for all aspects of the AFC’s member value proposition, responsible for managing and engaging with existing members and developing new relationships. Acting as the key interface between members and the AFC, the Head of Memberships & Engagement will ensure that members’ voices are heard, and programs and services meet their needs. Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Memberships & Engagement is the custodian of our membership base.

  • Lead implementation of the AFC membership strategy and prospects and engagement plan in consultation with the CEO, team and key stakeholders
  • Develop AFC’s strategic partner program and investigate and secure potential partnership opportunities for the AFC
  • Plan and deliver impact programs which deliver value to members and contribute to the evolution and growth of the fashion industry in Australia
  • Strategically review and manage the potential membership pool for AFC and cultivate relationships with prospective brands, communicating our value proposition
  • Refine and present regular reporting on membership for the team and the AFC Board, Identifying learnings from experience and feed these into future engagement
  • Work closely with the Head of Marketing & Communications to plan and deliver activities to engage members and ensure relevant, timely and segmented communications to members
  • Deliver on membership KPIs and report on key metrics of AFC activity
  • Represent the AFC at industry events as required.
  • Manage a team of two direct reports, supporting them to develop in their careers and deliver on the AFC’s business objectives

 

KEY SKILLS

  • Tertiary Qualifications
  • At least 5 years’ experience in business development roles ideally developed within professional services, consulting environment or industry/membership associations
  • Demonstrated experience in membership organisations
  • Experience developing strategies to drive commercial outcomes and proven track record of identifying customer and sales growth opportunities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability in managing teams and in broader stakeholder management
  • Openness to new ways of working and comfortable working in a high paced and dynamic environment
  • Experience in clothing and apparel is a strong advantage
