Danika Mason and her rumoured new partner Liam Knight appear to have officially gone public with their relationship, months after first being spotted together.
While Mason was performing her duties as host of Nine’s coverage of the NRL on Friday night, it was her new partner getting all the social media attention.
The presenter was working alongside NRL greats for the Cronulla Sharks and Wests Tigers clash at Southern Cross Group Stadium in Cronulla, while Knight, a rugby league player himself made a big statement about their relationship.
Knight, 29, took to Instagram where he posted a series of photos – the first of which was a loved up snap with Mason – with the caption: “My life is good.”
The Bulldogs forward was met with support from several other NRL players, including Bulldogs teammates Reed Mahoney, Blake Taaffe and Connor Tracey.
Shortly before taking the field for the Sharks, Knight’s former podcast co-host Toby Rudolf wrote: “Congrats on the debut.”
Former South Sydney Rabbitohs teammate Josh Mansour encouraged commenters to show their support.
“Congratulations mate, we’re all happy for you! Let’s all get around him boys,” he said.
Mason has not shown any sign of the new relationship on her own social media yet, which is dominated by her proud work for Channel Nine.
The pair were first seen together when they were cuddling up at The Butler in Sydney’s Potts Point back in February.
An onlooker who spotted the pair told Daily Mail Australia at the time Mason’s demeanour “was that of a relaxed woman enjoying a pre-season fling with a younger specimen”.
The 29-year-old was seen leaving Mason’s home in Sydney’s east days later to take her dog for a walk.
Knight was also sighted driving Mason to Sydney Airport in late February for her flight to Las Vegas where the first two matches of the opening round of the NRL season were held.
The relationship with Knight is a turn of fortunes for the popular presenter after suffering heartbreak last year, when her wedding to 40-year-old personal trainer Todd Liubinskas was called off in September, just four weeks out from the big day.
Mason and Liubinskas were in a relationship for more than three years and became engaged in July 2021.
Friends of Mason described her at the time as “beyond devastated” and “completely heartbroken”.
The presenter soldiered on through the difficult period and was without her ring as she performed her sideline duties for Channel Nine’s coverage of the NRL finals series in the last few weeks of the 2023 season.
