Charity cricket match: Gladstone Police vs Young Veterans, Gladstone – Gladstone

Must read

On Sunday, June 23, the annual charity cricket match between Gladstone Police and the Young Veterans, took place at the Glen Cricket Club in Sun Valley.

For its second year, the event was hosted to raise money for Combined Services Gladstone (a not-for-profit organisation consisting of emergency services, RSL and Young Veterans to raise money to donate to local causes).

The game commenced at 8.30am with the Young Veterans winning the coin toss and opting to bat first.

Young Vets – 114/9
Gladstone Police – 150/6

While the Gladstone Police won the game, it was another fantastic day regardless of the outcome, and a great celebration of comradeship and community spirit.

A raffle containing 20 prizes was also held, with the major prizes being a weekend at Heron Island and a Lady Elliot Island Barrier Reef day trip for two.

Over $4,000 was raised through the raffle and donations.
