The chant began after fans speculated that one of the song’s from Charli’s new album Brat was about Swift, quickly making her the ‘villain’ of the fandom.
In the song, the Von Dutch singer opens up about her insecurities in the music industry, comparing herself to another female artist within the same genre but a different sound.
Both Swift and Charli produce music of the pop genre, however Swift operates in the space of mainstream pop where as Charli is on the hyper-pop end of the spectrum.
However, the duo used to have a seemingly close relationship, with Charli opening for Swift during her 1989 North American stadium tour, alongside another opener, Camilla Cabello.
