Chelsea are confident that they can rival Arsenal to sign Benjamin Sesko if they progress in their plans to bring in a new centre forward this summer, football.london says after the Evening Standard reported interest.
Arsenal are said to be interested in signing the Slovenian international. Alongside the Gunners, Chelsea and Manchester United appear to be keen on his services. Sesko has a €65m (£55m) release clause in his current deal, though a bidding war between a number of clubs could increase that price.
But now, according to Evening Standard, Chelsea believe they can still go head-to-head with Arsenal for Sesko, despite not being able to offer him Champions League football. While the Gunners are thought to have been given encouragement that they hold an early edge over Sesko, that will not deter Chelsea.
