Chiefs DL Isaiah Buggs arrested for domestic violence/burglary in Tuscaloosa

Must read

Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs was arrested on a domestic violence/burglary charge and booked into Tuscaloosa County (Ala.) Jail on Sunday, per the jail’s records.

Buggs, 27, was held on $5,000 bond. It’s unclear if he has been released from custody.

Buggs’ arrest comes less than three weeks after he turned himself in to the same jail on misdemeanor animal cruelty charges. He was later released on $600 bond for two counts of cruelty to dogs in the second degree. Buggs’ agent issued a statement at the time saying that the player “vehemently denies” the allegations and that the dogs didn’t belong to him.

A former Alabama player, Buggs is entering his sixth season in the NFL. He was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft and spent three seasons there. After two years with the Detroit Lions, Buggs joined Kansas City’s practice squad in January. The Chiefs re-signed him to a futures contract in February.

In 56 career games, Buggs has 89 total tackles, 12 QB hits, four tackles for loss and two sacks.

The Chiefs wrapped up mandatory minicamp last week.
