It is alleged a machete and batons were brandished during the scrimmage over a Trapstar jumper, prompting Westfield staff to raise the alarm.

A fast food shop’s camera captured a panicked boy being cut off by three others.

Off-camera, police allege the boy was robbed of the designer hoodie.

Security triggered the lockdown but some have claimed the emergency response was over the top.

The centre warned shoppers to run and hide via electronic signs and an evacuation alert broadcast through a speaker system.

Westfield said the safety of customers, business partners and people is its “priority”.

Two 15-year-olds and a 16-year-old have been charged with assault, affray and aggravated robbery over the incident.

Police have a copy of the vision, along with hours of other security video, that tracks the three teens through the mall.

Prosecutors will use the vision to build their case against them.

The trio will be back in court in July.
