For the Spring/Summer 2025 season, Chitose Abe chooses the fast lane, channeling the adventurous and free spirit of legendary actor James Dean for sacai.
Re-mixing her own signature hybrid silhouettes with a familiar sense of naivety, the collection is all about wearability and functionality. Presenting a clear vision for ready-to-wear, Chitose Abe riffs off of the actor’s iconic sentiment. Known for his cool, leather jacket look, sacai leans into box-cut leather motor jackets paired with t-shirts that are an ode to old-time Hollywood and the James Dean era. The pieces come together to match the times, with trousers taking on an oversized and flowing aesthetic. Riffing off of the actor’s Harrington jacket, the sacai shape is still prominent while pieces are interspersed with the charm of vintage car and flower prints as a nod to Hollywood and Dean’s love of motor racing.
This season features a string of collaborations, including one with Levi’s. Most of the denim pieces bear the Levi’s logo, designed with sacai’s signature hybridization and proportions. Levi’s®reimagines hybrids of the Type I, II and III jackets, sculpted, waisted and bonded to denim pants, to make one piece. The original jeans take on new volume, sacai-style. On the other side of the Levi’s collaboration is a bomber jacket, coded with sacai’s shape motifs. sacai also comes together with WTAPS for military-inspired styles that coincide with sacai’s hybridization model. In footwear, sacai collaborates with J.M. Weston for contemporary penny loafer while sacai and Nike come together to introduce the Zegamadome sneaker which appears in three colorways.
