COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Amid California wildfires, the Cimarron Hills Fire Department sent out a crew of their own to help them out.
The Cimarron Hills Fire Department (CHFD) sent Engine 1313 and a crew of four: David, Bricyn, Rae and Brayden to assist California in battling wildfires. They left Monday morning for California.
This excursion is a part of their newest enrollment in the CHFD wildland program which provides resources to areas across the country with high fire danger or active fires.
The CHFD said these deployments provide opportunities for their crews to gain hands-on experience and better their skills for natural disaster response preparedness at home in Colorado Springs.
