WA’s first Cinnabon store will land in Lakeside Joondalup Shopping Centre later this year.
The grand opening is set for Saturday, August 17, promising to draw cinnamon roll lovers from all over Perth.
Brett Higgins, managing director of Boxx Brands, which owns the rights for Cinnabon in Western Australia, said the company was very selective about its first location.
“Selecting Lakeside Joondalup for our first store is a strategic move,” Mr Higgins said.
“This centre attracts close to 10 million people a year, is a major shopping destination but is also conveniently situated near the train station, making it easily accessible for everyone.
“Our store will be just near the entry to the train station.”
The new store will mark Cinnabon’s 15th location in Australia and will be the first of many planned expansions across Western Australia.
“Our aim is to open around 20 locations eventually,” Mr Higgins said.
“We anticipate a very warm welcome on opening day, similar to what they’ve experienced on the East Coast, with massive lines and eager fans. There’s a palpable excitement as the opening date approaches and we can’t wait to share the Cinnabon obsession with the people of Perth.”
On opening day, customers can look forward to indulging in the classic Cinnabon flavours such as the Original Roll and two other flavours in Caramel Pecan and Chocobon.
“There will be Cinnabon branded sweatshirts to give away for the first 50 customers on opening morning, along with some great product giveaways,” Mr Higgins said.
Originally established in Seattle in 1985, Cinnabon has grown to nearly 2000 stores across more than 50 countries. At the heart of its success is the exclusive Makara cinnamon, sourced from Indonesia, which gives the cinnamon rolls their distinctive flavour.
