The popular grocery store is aiming to help Aussies save on some big ticket items as we come into the winter months.

Think discounts on products such as mince meats, roast meats, and potatoes.

“Cold evenings call for hearty meals and we’re lowering the cost of roast dinners with savings on roasting meats and our Australian grown potatoes – all down in price over the next three months to help stretch budgets further,” said Anna Croft, Coles Chief Commercial Officer.

“Right now, our customers will find hundreds of products on Down Down pricing in store and online, as well as great value apples, avocados and lamb plus thousands of specials, changing every week.”

The news comes amid a huge push from the public for supermarkets to lower their prices amid the cost of living crisis.

Plenty of everyday Aussies have shared their struggle when it comes to being able to afford their groceries due to the ongoing inflation battle.

The announcement from Coles also comes just two days after Woolworths launched a similar initiative.

Woolies shared that it would be dropping the prices on more than 450 winter meal essentials as part of their latest seasonal Prices Dropped program.

Kicking off the same day, Wednesday May 29, customers shopping at Woolworths can expect to score some essential items for an average of 20 per cent less.

“Our Prices Dropped for Winter program is designed to give our customers certainty on the key products they’ll be buying this season to help their budgets go further.”
