Collingwood suffers MORE injury blows as Mihocek, Richards, De Goey and Cox cop bad news

Must read

Collingwood has issued another detailed injury report ahead of Round 12.

The already injury-depleted Pies lost more soldiers in Friday’s draw to Fremantle.

They included Mason Cox (MCL), Brody Mihocek – who reinjured his hamstring, and young forward Joe Richards who now has a fracture in his foot.

Cox went in for scans after falling awkwardly on his knee and the tall Pie will now miss six weeks as a result of the grade two MCL injury.

The ruck/forward could return for Collingwood’s Round 18 game against Geelong.

Mihocek, who only returned from a hamstring injury, has again suffered a minor strain in the same area. He’ll miss two to four weeks and return around Round 14 to 16.

De Goey, who suffered an acute abdominal tear in the Round 10 win over Adelaide, will also miss three to four weeks and will return around Round 14.

Richards, who suffered a fracture in his foot during the Freo draw will miss at least five weeks and could return in Round 16 against Gold Coast or Round 17 against Essendon.

Jack Bytel (concussion) and Jeremy Howe (groin) are expected to be available for Friday night’s clash against the Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium.

Reef McInnes (concussion) could also be available if he gets through his concussion protocols, although the club didn’t include the forward in the ‘to be assessed this week’ section of the report.
