MIAMI — FIU’s men’s basketball program along with Conference USA (CUSA) officially released its 2024-25 slate on Thursday afternoon.
The Panthers’ CUSA schedule features a total of 18 games in conference play, nine of which will be inside the Ocean Bank Convocation Center. FIU’s additional two CUSA matchups this season will be with CUSA-newcomer Kennesaw State as now the league is comprised of an even 10 programs.
FIU will open with a home weekend, taking on Middle Tennessee on Jan. 2 and Western Kentucky on Jan. 4. The Panthers then hit the road for the first time in CUSA play for matchups at La Tech (Jan. 9) and Sam Houston (Jan. 11).
This sets the stage for a three-game home stand following the first road trip with New Mexico State (Jan. 16), UTEP (Jan. 18) and Liberty (Jan. 25). FIU rounds out its January with Jax State on the road on Jan. 30 before heading to CUSA-newcomer Kennesaw State on Feb. 1.
On Feb. 6, FIU will begin the reverse slate, hosting Sam Houston and then La Tech on Feb. 8. The Panthers then have a second three-game road trip with matchups at UTEP (Feb. 13), New Mexico State (Feb. 15) and Liberty (Feb. 22). The final home stand of the 2024-25 regular season follows with dates on Feb. 27 versus Kennesaw State and March 1 versus Jax State.
FIU finishes its regular season on the road at Western Kentucky on March 6 and Middle Tennessee on March 8.
The Panthers will then take on the CUSA Championships March 11-15 at Propst Arena in Huntsville, Ala.
