Cricket starts with the participation of 10 schools – The Fiji Times

The Southern Zone under-19 Men’s Cricket competition has started with the participation of 10 schools, a notable increase from the previous eight schools in the last three years, which took place at Albert Park in Suva yesterday.

These schools are competing for the top four positions in the zone to progress to the revamped national under-19 men’s finals scheduled for August.

The competition is set to last for six weeks, and the finals will take place on August 10th, preceding the Nationals which are scheduled for August 27th to 30th, 2024.

Meanwhile in games yesterday, Suva Grammar School beat Tailevu North College by 62 runs.

SGS batted first and scored 102 runs at a loss of seven wickets.

In reply TNC managed only 40 runs losing all wickets.

Ratu Kadavulevu School defeated Nabua Secondary School by nine wickets.

Nabua Secondary batted first and scored 48 runs at a loss of three wickets.

While RKS managed to reach the target at the loss of one wicket.

William Cross College won game three by beating Lelean Memorial School by nine wickets. Lelean batted first and scored 27 runs at a loss of eight wickets while WCC reached the target at the loss of one batsman.
