Cyclist fighting for life, another seriously injured after crash in Sydney

A cyclist is fighting for life and another is seriously injured after a crash on Sydney’s Northern Beaches this morning.

It’s understood competitive cyclists Nick Sky, 47, and Michael Collings, 56, collided with a car about 6.10am on Forest Way, Belrose.

Sky has undergone surgery for a traumatic brain injury and is still fighting for his life this evening.

Collings is in a stable condition but has multiple fractures and a dislocated shoulder. 

The driver of the car – a 24-year-old man – was uninjured and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established and an investigation is under way.

Police are trying to determine if speed played a part in the crash.
