There’s no denying that Western dressing has been one of the biggest fashion trends of the year so far. First came the release of Cowboy Carter, Beyoncé’s country-inspired album, then Bella Hadid went viral for her Nineties take on equestrian style as she supported her professional cowboy boyfriend Adan Banuelos in Texas. And finally, sealing the sartorial deal, Chloé’s Chemena Kamali heralded the official return of boho chic with her fringe and suede heavy AW24 show.
But while for most of us this trend has meant little more than the unexpected addition of a pair of cowboy boots to our spring/summer wardrobes, Daisy Edgar-Jones has taken the cowgirl-core aesthetic and gone full yee-haw for her latest photoshoot.

While the actor has opted for a minimal-chic Kendall Jenner-like aesthetic in recent weeks as she tours the world to promote upcoming film Twisters – the result of bringing celebrity super-stylist Dani Michelle on board, no doubt – her latest Instagram post shows the star in embracing a whole new look that’s her wildest to date.
Posing for Who What Wear‘s July cover shoot, Edgar-Jones channelled the Wild West in a series of out-there ensembles – from thigh-high, red suede, tie-up boots paired with denim micro-shorts and a Vivienne Westwood tartan jacket, to a purple three-piece tux and white cowboy hat.
In a video posted on her account, the star can also be seen rocking a black leather belt-strap bra, nude sequinned evening gown, and full floral body-stocking with a matching ruffled cape and black Western hat – all while playing around with a lasso and line dancing. Talk about method dressing!
‘Hands down my favourite shoot ever,’ Egar-Jones wrote in the caption of her Instagram post. We can certainly see why.
